Beryllium & Flax
Witness an unprecedented collaboration in the world of audio as the Flax sandwich cone speaker harmoniously merges with the Beryllium tweeter for the very first time. Flax, renowned for its low mass, rigidity, and damping properties, effortlessly achieves sound clarity and precision. This unique combination of Flax and Beryllium bestows music with unparalleled warmth and musicality. Crafted in France, the patented Flax cone has already demonstrated its excellence in Focal’s home and car speakers. Moreover, the midrange speaker features TMD suspension for optimal performance, while the inclusion of the NIC (Neutral Inductance Circuit) motor guarantees a stable magnetic field, resulting in immaculately defined sound and controlled bass.
Cabinet Work
Every aspect of design and craftsmanship in the Kanta speakers is meticulously aimed at creating a listening experience of acoustic softness and warmth. The density and stiffness of the front panel and cabinet materials, along with carefully softened angles and double port vents, contribute to this goal. The front panel is crafted from High Density Polymer (HDP), a material specially chosen for its exceptional acoustic properties. With its superior density and stiffness, HDP provides 25% more damping than traditional MDF, while the one-piece construction eliminates sound diffraction. Additionally, the incorporation of Power Flow technology, featuring front and rear vents, effectively controls bass compression for enhanced audio performance.
Distortion
Focal’s relentless research focuses on minimizing distortion across all frequency ranges. The Kanta series introduces a pure Beryllium tweeter that combines IAL and IHL features to absorb waves and lower the tweeter frequency.
